A lot of people these days are “feeling” their way through life.  They base their choices and decisions on how they “feel” at the moment.  The problem with that is…feelings change.  Feelings are fickle. The word fickle is an adjective which means, changing frequently.

People who are fickle change their minds so much you can’t rely on them.  No one wants a fickle friend.  One week they like you, the next week they won’t speak to you.  Your fickle friend is showing traits of instability and prove to be someone you cannot count on if the going gets rough.  We all want a friend or companion who is constant and loyal in their affections.

Feelings change, but faith is steady.

Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.  Deuteronomy 12:8 KJV

You shall not do according to all we do here (in the camp) this day, every man doing whatever looks right in his own eyes.  Deuteronomy 12:8 AMP

Everyone is doing what “feels” right in their own eyes in our present day world.  If they don’t feel like going to work, they lie and call in sick and most of the time their children are watching.  If they want to have sex without marriage, they “shack up”.  If they find themselves pregnant and they don’t want the inconvenience of having a baby and raising a child, no problem, they have an abortion.  If they are married, but want to have an illicit affair, they get online, find someone and cheat on their spouse.   If they’re broke and need money, they just rob a convenience store.

Every parent knows if you let you’re child live by their “feelings”  they would never take a bath, never brush their teeth and would never go to school.  They would stay home watch TV and eat candy, cookies and junk all day.  Every good parent tells their child you have to take a bath whether you want to or not, you must brush your teeth and you have to go to school, because one day you will be grown and need to support yourself with a job.

We all have feelings, because we are human, but we can’t let feelings dictate our life.

We cannot live our life dictated by feelings alone, because feelings are deceiving.

Any responsible person knows you get up in the middle of the night with you’re sick child even if you are sleepy and have to go to work at 4:00 a.m. the next morning.  You change your babies messy diapers even if you have a gag reflex.  You take a bath and brush your teeth everyday.  You go to work every day and make a living for your family even though you don’t want to work. That’s the way responsible people operate.

Too many people in today’s society live their daily lives being led by their feelings. This is  why our nation has many of the problems we’re experiencing right now.

No, we cannot live our life ruled by our feelings.  Feelings are fickle.  We must be a society ruled by moral values.  The Bible, God’s Holy Word is the manual by which man must live.  When we follow God’s kingdom way of living, we will experience ultimate peace, freedom, love, happiness, prosperity, health and abundant life.

I want to write more about God’s kingdom in a later post.  I don’t have time to address it now, but it is truly the way to live life here and now.
