The Negligent Christian Voter

voting booth

During the Presidency of Bill Clinton and right in the middle of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, I heard many friends, family, and co-workers make this same statement with much consternation, “I didn’t vote for him!”

Every time I heard this statement, I always thought, well somebody voted for him!  Several people, who say they are Christians, made this declaration, either to me or my husband…I don’t like him, or his platform, but I believe he’ll help the economy…to which I wanted to reply, “Phooey fish!”, or some other expletive!

I’m so weary and wary of the negligent Christian voter these days.  What happened to faithfulness to the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ?  Do we just lay down our Christianity for the love of money and the economy?  As the Apostle Paul says, “God forbid!”

If you say you’re a Christian and you vote for a political candidate who endorses same sex marriage and abortion, then there’s something wrong with your Christianity.

Sincerely,

The Voice
